Tips for the application

How do I apply?

Under “Vacancies at Fraunhofer FOKUS” you will find our current job postings. An application is possible as long as the job posting is published.

Please apply for advertised positions exclusively via our application portal. Applications by e-mail are only possible for unsolicited applications.

What documentation should I submit?

Please have the following documents ready for your application:

  • Cover letter: The cover letter should be concise and convincing. Explain why you are suitable for the advertised position and convince us with your creativity! Please also include a possible starting date.
  • Resume: Your resume should include all relevant experience and skills in chronological order and be clearly organized. References to additional experience (e.g. volunteer work or special skills) are also welcome!
  • Testimonials: Attach relevant references and testimonials that demonstrate your skills and experience.
  • An application photo is not required for the applications! Please refrain from sending us one. We would like to evaluate your application as unbiased as possible based on experience and skills.
Information for university students:
If you are applying during your studies, documents such as your high school diploma, current grades, internship certificates or a list of ECTS credits earned so far are desirable

Information for pupils:
We welcome applications for student internships by email to the adress listed above. Please write something about your interests, your favorite subjects, what you do in your free time or what your family, friends and teachers like about you.

I would like to submit an unsolicited application. What is the best way to proceed?

We also welcome unsolicited applications. We would like to give you some useful tips and important information for your unsolicited application:

  • For scientists: To begin with, please visit our website to find out which of our business units matches your profile and interest. There you will also find information on current projects. Please indicate in your application which areas you are interested in and where you would like to work, as this is the only way we can place you in the best possible way. If you have any questions about the content of your application in advance, please feel free to use the contact details of the HR department listed above.
  • For university students: If you are interested in working as a student assistant, please apply directly for one of our advertised positions. You are also welcome to apply for an internship on your own initiative.
  • For administrative staff: From time to time, we also advertise positions in administration, e.g. in purchasing, controlling, assistance or human resources, and also in other service areas such as IT administration and communications. If you are interested in one of these positions, you are welcome to apply directly for the advertised positions. Unfortunately, unsolicited applications are not very promising in this area, and we therefore advise against them.
  • For pupils: If you are interested in a pupil internship, you are welcome to write us an e-mail directly to the HR department listed above. We would like to point out in advance that our capacities for the supervision of internships are currently very limited and unfortunately we cannot offer many internships. The optimal time for an application is three months before the start of the internship.

Unsolicited applications (including relevant documents) can be sent directly to the contact details of the HR department listed above.
