The research group “Digitalisierung der wissenschaftlichen Wertschöpfung” (Digitalisation of Scientific Value Creation), headed by Dr Sonja Schimmler from the DPS business unit, is investigating the influence of digitalisation on the social effects and impact of academic research. Digitalisation is understood as a change in research and publication processes with the objective of increasing the benefits of research. The research group enables the other research groups at the Weizenbaum Institute to analyse and improve their research and publication processes. The research group will develop a research data infrastructure and other tools, which will be established and evaluated at the Weizenbaum Institute. At the Weizenbaum-Institut 20 research groups and around 100 scientists currently work on the social changes caused by advancing digitalisation.
