Digitalization already has a big impact on our daily lives, even if this is not always obvious. Digitalization can also make a contribution to sustainability in this area. For example, smart buildings could reduce the energy required for lighting in commercial buildings by more than half. In addition, around two gigatonnes of CO₂ could be saved through the digital and sustainable networking of agriculture (smart agriculture).
