Dr. Naouel Karam is a Project Manager for Data Analytics and AI
Naouel Karam obtained her Phd in the field of semantic information retrieval from the university of Clermont-Ferrand, France. Her expertise revolves around Knowledge Representation and Artificial Intelligence with a solid background in Semantic Web technologies and machine learning. Her academic carrier has let her to the Hasso-Plattner Institute, the Free University of Berlin and lately to the Fraunhofer Institute, where she was principal investigator and managed several successful research and industrial projects. For several years, she lead the development of the GFBio Terminology Service, an ontology repository enabling an efficient integration, reuse and sustainability of research data. Naouel is involved as program committee member and track chair in several renown conferences in the Semantic Web field and its applications (e.g. ESWC, Semantics, OM, SWAT4HCLS, AICCSA). She is program chair of the international workshop on Semantics for Biodiversity and track organiser at the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative. She is also active in several multi-disciplinary research communities, such as the PhUSE project and member of several RDA Working Groups.
