Dr Mike Weber is Deputy Head of the Competence Centre Öffentliche IT (ÖFIT) (Public IT) and deals with the socio-political dimensions of digitalisation. His work focuses on trend and future research, administrative innovation research and the digital transformation of civil society. He analyses the interplay between social and technological developments, their adaptation by the public sector and the resulting social effects from both a technological (e.g. artificial intelligence) and social (e.g. digital communities) perspective. He completed his doctorate in political science and economics at the University of Speyer.
