Juan Carlos Carvajal Bermúdez is the Principal Researcher of the Open Service Engineering team. He works as a project manager and is involved in the development and conception of research projects. He completed his doctorate at the Bauhaus University Weimar in 2022. His doctoral thesis dealt with “New methods of citizen participation based on digital technologies”. Through his doctoral thesis, he gained insights into the role of digital technologies in the transformation of public spaces and cities. He also gained experience in urban interaction design, geodata, data visualisation and web development. He is a board member of the Media Architecture Institute and Advisor for public spaces at City Space Architecture.
