The Competence Center for Public IT (ÖFIT) is based at Fraunhofer FOKUS and sees itself as a contact and think tank for issues relating to public IT, with a particular focus on social trends and the resulting fields of action.

The business unit “Colalborative Safety and Security” offers students of computer science and related topics the opportunity to realize and get support for master theses (currently no bachelor theses). Some of the theses have a research and design focus in the subject area and can be carried out in particular by non-computer scientists. Other work also requires programming, i.e. experience in computer science or software development is assumed.

The business unit Future Applications and Media (FAME) researches and develops in the field of machine learning for media technologies, the interoperable support of various media platforms, the personalization of services and the interaction with these services on a wide range of end devices. When participating in one of our student projects, you get the possibility to learn about interactive media, improve coding skills and establish contacts to prominent companies of the media industry. Additionally, we provide support for your bachelor or master thesis.

In cooperation with the Daimler Center for Automotive IT Innovations (DCAITI), we regularly offer topics for final theses.

We do not offer a list of open theses topics. Instead, we're developing interesting research questions jointly with our students in the core areas 5G/6G, TSN, and Edge Computing.
