Fraunhofer FOKUS establishes the Competence Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer in order to transform research results and ideas from Fraunhofer FOKUS into marketable innovations.

The goal of the Competence Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CC INNO) is to strengthen the utilization dynamics of applied research and pave the way for this research to enter the market. It does this by systematically identifying project results, developing business models as well as commercialization and enhancement of research results of Fraunhofer FOKUS. The CC INNO portfolio includes the transfer of know-how, neutral technology consulting, the assessment of R&D innovations and systems, due diligence for technologies, as well as analysis of market development and trends.

The Competence Center is being established by Gerd Schürmann who is the Deputy Director of FOKUS and the director of INNO. “In order to achieve our goals we need partners within the whole innovation process. Therefore we are establishing an international Innovation Network that comprises different types of stakeholders: people providing ideas and potential founders of start-ups, patent attorneys, venture capital investors, big business and SMEs as well as representatives from politics and public administration," Gerd Schürmann pointed out.
