The International Open Data Dialog (ODD) seeks to target the industry, civil society, government as well as research to discuss the status, needs and challenges in opening data to the public. With this year’s motto “THINK OPEN, THINK BUSINESS” the ODD emphasizes the great potentials of Open Data for businesses, that are yet to be realized. We will review and discuss new business cases and businesses being established on open data as well as review and discuss organizational, legal and regulatory settings for open data.

The 4th Eclipse IDD will take place at May 27, 2013 at Fraunhofer FOKUS: Eclipse Integrated Development Day in Berlin is a day-long event for technical developers, architects and managers interested in tool and process integration as well as automation in development processes. Attendees will have the chance to hear speakers from leading organizations and experts from the Eclipse community.

Testing is one of the most important methods for the quality assurance of software and hardware systems. Especially in the industrial practice it takes a prominent position. However, the consequent implementation of quality assurance measures is often a controversial subject of debate. The discovery of flaws at an early stage, their cost-efficient rectification and generally a better quality are pitted against the costs of testing, which on average comprise 30 to 50 percent of the entire development budget.

From December 5-6, 2012, Fraunhofer FOKUS will host the “1st International Open Data Dialog – Potentials for Urban Innovation and New Businesses (ODD 2012)” in Berlin. The ODD seeks to target industry, civil society, government and research and aims to discuss about the status, needs and challenges in opening data to the public.

The international FOKUS FUSECO FORUM (FFF) series represents a follow-up to the famous international FOKUS IMS Workshop series held from 2004 to 2009. However, within the FFF series IMS technology represents just a small part of the overall converging telecommunication and Internet infrastructure, and thus we consider increasingly more the impacts of alternative control and service delivery platform technologies and new emerging application domains, which will be delivered seamlessly via different wireless broadband networks onto smartphones, tablet PCs, and other emerging mobile integrated devices.
