    The development of quantum algorithms, potentially exponentially faster than classical algorithms, is attracting widespread interest in business and science. To implement these algorithms in accessible and user-friendly quantum programming the project “Qompiler - Standardized Quantum Software Stack” a software stack with a higher-level quantum programming language is being developed.

    The project SchleusenNOK40 enables improved lock management through data-based traffic forecasts and knowledge-based planning and optimization processes. A planning and information system was developed for this purpose as part of the project. The aim is to provide better support for lock personnel in their decisions. Waterway users can thus obtain improved information about possible waiting and clearance times at the locks for their own planning.

    Standardized communication protocols and technical specifications do require unique descriptions for testing. Scientists of Fraunhofer FOKUS are part of the Special Task Forces (STFs) and Testing Task Forces (TTFs) of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), whose objective it is to define test specifications using TTCN-3 and to maintain TTCN-3.
