Fraunhofer FOKUS is an experienced and competent partner for the development and application of digitalization technologies and the networking of distributed infrastructures. Fraunhofer FOKUS develops practical solutions in many national and international funded projects as well as in contract research for SMEs, large-scale industry and public administration. 

We work on research and development projects of all sizes:

    Evaluation of digital educational media with eduCheck digital

    eduCheck digital is a project commissioned by the 16 German federal states to develop legal and technical standards, as well as an associated evaluation procedure, for digital educational media. The project’s objectives are therefore (1) to develop defined quality standards in the individual evaluation areas and (2) to test the feasibility of a joint evaluation procedure across the federal states.

    AI-assisted annotation of 3D point clouds

    Before a vehicle can travel automatically, it must be able to “see” and recognize objects autonomously. The Fraunhofer lidar labeling tool, called “FLLT.AI”, supports AI developers, labeling experts and software developers of automotive manufacturers and their suppliers as well as sensor manufacturers in analyzing and annotating image data from cameras and lidar sensors.

  • CleanFeed

    Trust in Digital Media

    With CleanFeed, we explore how trust in digital media can be preserved in the age of AI generated and manipulated content. Images, videos and texts can now be altered or synthesized with little effort, often in ways that make their origin and authenticity difficult to assess for users. CleanFeed addresses this challenge by making the origin, processing and trustworthiness of digital media transparent and verifiable across the entire media chain – from capture to distribution. In doing so, the project contributes to strengthening trust, informed decision making and democratic processes in the digital public sphere.
