M.Sc. Sebastian Bock

Sebastian Bock is a research assistant in the SQC division

Education and profession

Sebastian currently works as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS, where he is part of the Quality Engineering for Quantum Computing research group. Sebastian is currently leading the project “Qompiler - Standardized Quantum Software Stack” funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection and is working on the development of a higher-level quantum programming language and a hardware-specific qompiler for ion traps.
Sebastian studied physics in Chemnitz and Siegen and wrote his master's thesis on the construction of an ion trap with the aim of optimizing its physical properties for quantum information processing. In addition to his studies, he supervised students in carrying out practical physics experiments.
