The aim of the 5G-SPRINT project is to develop an innovative airborne 5G radio cell to improve communication between crisis intervention forces in the areas of rescue services, disaster control, and disaster management. In particular, a prototype is to be developed that provides a broadband communication channel with low latency. In addition, the project aims to evaluate performance on the ground by equipping the Fraunhofer FOKUS SPOT robot system with 5G measurement technology to perform autonomous measurements of the 5G network on the ground using the OMNT toolkit.
