Dr. Jens Klessmann joins the board of the “Association for Secure Digital Identity” (VSDI)
On November 26, 2025, Dr. Jens Klessmann, head of the “Digital Public Services” (DPS) business unit, was elected to the “Association for Secure Digital Identity” (VSDI). The association is a nationwide network of companies, universities, and research institutions that promotes the transformation from analog to digital identities. As a new member of the board, Klessmann will actively support the VSDI in the future.
As head of the DPS business unit, Klessmann has been active at Fraunhofer FOKUS for many years in the field of digital administration, research, and consulting, and is responsible for national and international projects related to governance technologies and modern data infrastructures for the public sector.
The Digital Public Services (DPS) business unit, with its interdisciplinary team of around 90 people, develops solutions for modern, service-oriented, and competitive administration. Part of the business unit is the Competence Center for Public IT (ÖFIT) – a think tank funded by the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation.
At VSDI, Klessmann replaces his former co-division manager Jan Ziesing and takes up the position with immediate effect.
