Fraunhofer FOKUS contributes its expertise in “collaborative safety and security” across the areas of cybersecurity, secure data exchange, situational awareness and resilient communication, as well as trustworthy digital information. The goal is to interconnect data, organizations, and technical systems in such a way that they can reliably work together even in complex security and crisis situations. 

An important component is the SIRIOS Lab at Fraunhofer FOKUS. In this research and demonstration environment, scenarios such as extreme weather, power outages, or cyberattacks are simulated realistically, and cross-organizational processes are tested.

Through this membership, Fraunhofer FOKUS strengthens collaboration with other Fraunhofer institutes and contributes its expertise to joint research projects for civil safety and security.
