Paul Szucs is Senior Manager, Technology Standards at Sony, based at Stuttgart Technology Centre, Germany. In 23 years with Sony in R&D, standardisation, business development and industry alliances, his fields of work have covered broadcast TV, IPTV, OTT, hybrid and mobile delivery, home networking rights management, and more recently in automotive, in cybersecurity, software update and the validation and verification of automated driving systems. On the media technology side he is currently most active in DVB, where he chaired the recent work item on next-generation video codecs, in 3GPP SA4, and in ISO TC22 working groups for automotive. Paul is a native of London, a Chartered Engineer and has a BSc Honours degree in Physics from Loughborough University of Technology, UK.
