Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Adrian Paschke is head of the Data Analytic and AI
Since 2008 Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Adrian Paschke is head of the Corporate Semantic Web group (AG CSW) with a chair on semantic data intelligence at the institute of computer science, department of mathematics and computer science at Freie Universität Berlin (FUB). He additionally is head Data Analytics and AI at Fraunhofer FOKUS, director of RuleML Inc. in Canada, and professorial member at the Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF), the Dahlem Center for Machine Learning and Robotics (DCMLR), the Institut für Angewandte Informatik (InfAI) at University of Leipzig, and founder of the Berlin Semantic Web Meetup and the Semantic Web Applications and Tools for the Life Sciences (SWAT4HCLS) group.
He received his Dr. rer. nat. from the Technical University Munich (TUM) with a thesis on “Rule-based IT Service Management and Service Level Agreements” (RBSLA). His academic carrier has let him to the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich (LMU), the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen/Nuernberg (FAU), the Technical University Munich (TUM), the National Research Council (NRC) in Canada, the Technical University Dresden (TUD) and its Biotec Innovation Centre Dresden. He also was associate professor at the department of information systems at the Poznan University of Economics (PUE) in Poland and visiting professor at University of Toronto and McGill in Canada.
With over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and an i10-index of 74 and h-rank of 30 he has made substantial scientific contributions in the field of semantic AI research and is active in standardization of semantic technologies (e.g. OASIS LegalRuleML, RuleML, OMG API4KB, W3C Semantic Web - W3C Rule Interchange Format, W3C RDF Stream Processing). He also served as an expert for industry and several ministries and funding bodies, including the European Commission. He was organizer and chair of renowned conferences and workshops (e.g. DEBS, RuleML, BIS, SWAT4HCLS, ODBASE, ESWC, Reasoning Web, Semantics, edBPM) and was invited speaker for keynotes, tutorials, panels, and lectures. Adrian has lead multiple research, industrial, and open-source projects and has spin-off successful and awarded companies at Freie Universität Berlin.
