Since 2007, Jochen is responsible as leading project manager for setup and further development of ZDF`s mediathek technical production platforms like metadata management, transcoding, playout/CDN including adaptations for HbbTV/SmartTV, mobile devices and cable platforms. Jochen Schmidt was also responsible for setting up a „Multiplex- and Compression Center“ which is ZDF´s centralized playout solution for linear TV channels and internet live streaming for all ZDF and partner channels.

Since 2013, Jochen Schmidt is leader of team „Neue Informations- und Mediensysteme“ within ZDF´s IT department. Currently, he works on introducing UHD into ZDF`s VoD offerings.
