KATRETTER 
KATRETTER

KATRETTER is a professional service for rescue services to reach and coordinate volunteers quickly and legally. The KATRETTER system ensures quick and easy alerting of volunteers via smartphone app using standardized technologies. The volunteers are activated in emergencies or crisis situations according to their respective knowledge and skills.

Fraunhofer Academy

Within the framework of the Fraunhofer Academy, the business unit ESPRI – collaborative safety and security developed training courses for specialists and users in the CyberSecurity learning laboratory with the University of Applied Sciences Berlin (HTW Berlin). The Cyber Security Learning Lab of the Fraunhofer Academy is a cooperation between Fraunhofer and selected universities of applied sciences.

KATWARN - the warning system

KATWARN is a new type of warning system that sends a message to affected groups of the population via smartphone app, text or e-mail when an incident or dangerous situation occurs. It supplements information provided by the police, fire service or media.

ERIC
Duration: Jan. 01, 2017 to Dec. 31, 2019

The ERIC project aims to improve the care of patients before and after intensive medical treatment. Around 2.1 million patients are treated in intensive care units in Germany every year and almost half a million are ventilated. Intensive care treatment often leads to critical and stressful long-term consequences for patients and their relatives. The aim of the project is to apply scientific findings consistently and to connect patients to a new telemedical intensive care network.

MyRehab
Duration: Aug. 01, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2013

MyRehab is a therapy platform for personalized therapeutic support that is tailored to the capabilities of the patient. The telemedicine platform is designed to motivate people with limited movement in particular to integrate more movement into their everyday lives and to promote an active, healthy lifestyle.

ROBUST
Duration: Jan. 01, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2022

The project ROBUST develops a user-oriented early earthquake warning and response system that can detect earthquakes, immediately and automatically initiate measures to protect people, infrastructure and the economy, and can predict possible damage.

Meteo Value Live
Duration: July 09, 2019 to July 31, 2022

he aim of the Meteo Value Live project is to support trucking companies and long-distance bus companies in route and deployment planning so that the arrival of deliveries and passenger buses at their destination can be better planned.

EPRIS-ADEP

The project ESPRI-ADEP has developed a procedure for the pseudonymized identification of personal data between the information systems of EU member states. With this procedure, it can be queried whether data on suspicious persons are available within the EU without disclosing the sensitive data themselves (hit/no hit procedure). The innovation: The algorithm is able to find names with a similar spelling as the one in the query, such as Thomas and Tomas, and can, therefore, also be used to identify duplicates in databases.

BERKoS
Duration: June 01, 2017 to Feb. 28, 2021

Based on the fit4sec project, the BERKoS project supports German actors in the formation of new research consortia. For this purpose, Fraunhofer FOKUS is realizing a platform, which helps users such as security authorities and companies to get an overview of the research and innovation landscape, to recognize innovation potentials faster and to find suitable partners more easily. The core element is the (further) development of a web-based platform (Topicmatcher), which will be extended with current information (e.g. topic areas, calls for proposals, project results) in various areas of civil security.

OSiMa
Duration: Sep. 01, 2016 to Aug. 31, 2019

The goal of the project "The Order of the Security Market" (OSiMa) is to analyze forms of the good "security" and how they are (can or should be) organized and financed. Special emphasis is placed on the question of what contribution the private security industry can make from a regulatory perspective, within which framework new services and organizational forms of "protection and security" can emerge and how technological factors as well as trends and innovations affect (future) market development.

WiSima

The WiSima project is developing proposals to improve passengers' perception of safety. Using a special evaluation method, existing measures, such as video surveillance in trains and stations, are recorded and evaluated in terms of their cost-efficiency.

City.Risks
Duration: May 01, 2015 to Apr. 30, 2018

City.Risks will leverage a set of innovative technologies, city infrastructures as well as Web and social media technologies aiming to increase the security level of citizens in large cities. Through City.Risks solution the citizens in modern smart cities will be actively contributing to the fight against crime and the increase of security level in their daily activities.
