FIcontent2 Social Connected TV Workshop

What is FIcontent2 ?

FIcontent2 (FIC2) stands for the EU-funded project Future Internet Content 2, the second in the FI series. FIC2 offers SMEs and developers the use of 'enablers' (software programmes), at no cost. The purpose is to encourage and support the creation of applications and services for social connected TV, smart city services, and pervasive games. These enablers are part of the FIWARE catalogue of media & content technologies.

Within FIC2, a Social Connected TV (SCTV) work package focusses on the development and uptake of TV-related applications. Connected TV links up the TV set with a computer or other internet-connected device, and its market success is already leading to the creation of new applications and concepts focussed on broadcast content.

What was the workshop aimed at?

Any SME, developer, anyone who works with audio/video content or services, anyone who wants to expand into these fields. If your work has anything to do with video or audio content for broadcast, this workshop is an opportunity for you to use our resources, meet the professionals and make contacts.

The below SCTV apps, produced by FIC2 partners, will be shown:
  • Audio Mining
  • Content Optimisation
  • Cross-Device Resume Play
  • HbbTV Toolkit
  • VideoCloud
  • Interactive Football Match
  • Interactive Car Advertising
  • Fall of the Wall app
With these apps you can experiment within the workshop. Do you have projects of your own in which these apps/enables might be useful? Examine the code, talk to the creators, try out your ideas.
