PII
Duration: Jan. 01, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2008

PII addresses the need for large-scale testing facilities in the communications area by implementing an infrastructure for federating testbeds. The central objective of PII is to create a testbed federation among regional innovation clusters in Europe.

Vital++ Logo
VITAL++
Duration: June 01, 2008 to Mar. 31, 2011

VITAL++ major objective is to combine and experiment with the best of the two worlds, namely, IMS-like control plane functionality and P2P technology giving rise into a new communication paradigm that will bring a wide range of benefits. The key to achieving this objective, is to put this paradigm under strenuous experimentation, carried out under realistic network conditions using popular applications.

OneLab2
Duration: Sep. 01, 2008 to Sep. 01, 2010

OneLab2 is a successor of the OneLab project, an open networking laboratory for integrating, testing, validating and demonstrating new fixed and wireless networking technologies in real world settings and production environments. OneLab2 provides an open federated laboratory built on PlanetLab Europe, which supports network research for the future internet.

NGNI, Projects
SCAMSTOP
Duration: Mar. 01, 2009 to Dec. 31, 2011
NGNI is taking the lead in the upcoming European project SCAMSTOP which will target scams and fraud detection in VoIP networks. In the project, fraud and service misuse in NGNs will be evaluated, and the necessary countermeasures will be suggested.

Service Line 115
Duration: Jan. 01, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010

Within the project about a service hotline for administrations, funded by the ISPRAT Institute (Interdisciplinary Studies on Politics, Law, Administration, and Technology), exemplary scenarios for administrational processes, showing potential applications for this hotline, are being developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS. The developments origin in the concept of the American service hotline 311, realized by means of a call center.

NGNI, Projects
PEACE
Duration: Sep. 01, 2008 to Nov. 01, 2010

The project IP-Based Emergency Applications and ServiCes for NExt Generation Networks (PEACE), funded through the FP7 programme “Research for SMEs”, aims at providing a general emergency management framework (based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)) addressing extreme emergency situations such as terrorist attacks and natural catastrophes as well as day-to-day emergency cases such as calls to the police or fire brigade.

4WARD
Duration: Jan. 01, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010
4WARD - Architecture and Design for the Future Internet, Integrated Project (IP). The 7th Framework Program project 4WARD addresses Architecture and Design for the Future Internet.
C-CAST
Duration: Mar. 01, 2008 to Feb. 01, 2010
The main strategic objective of C-CAST is to evolve mobile multicasting to exploit the increasing integration of mobile devices with our everyday physical world and environment. Thus, C-CAST will provide an end-to-end context-aware communication framework specifically for intelligent multicast-broadcast services to deliver context-aware multimedia content to a set of users efficiently.
End-to-End Efficiency, Integrated Project (IP)
Duration: Jan. 01, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010
The End-to-End Efficiency (E3) project is an ambitious FP7 EC Large Scale Integrating Project (IP) aiming at integrating cognitive wireless systems in the Beyond 3G (B3G) world, evolving current heterogeneous wireless system infrastructures into an integrated, scalable and efficiently managed B3G cognitive system framework.
PRISM
Duration: Jan. 01, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2010
The project PRISM - PRIvacy-aware Secure Monitoring aims to show that it is technically possible to devise a privacy-preserving network monitoring system where carefully designed data protection mechanisms can coexist with suitably adapted monitoring applications. This shall allow useful traffic analysis as well as protecting the legitimate privacy rights of the network users. Ultimately, the goal of the project is to set a new de-facto standard for privacy-preserving traffic monitoring and deliver a tool that is guaranteed (and possibly certified) for legal compliance.
MAMSplus
Duration: June 01, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2009

The True Potential of SOA-Based SDPs over IMS – NGN Service Exposition, together with an open, flexible and intuitively understandable Service Creation Environment not only enables innovative business models for the telecommunication industry, but also for SMEs to enrich and facilitate their communication capabilities.

IMS ARCS
Duration: Mar. 01, 2007 to June 01, 2009
