Fraunhofer FOKUS conducted a field trial as part of the EU project 5Genesis with partners from the Leibniz Institute Innovations for High Performance Microeletronics (IHP), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Karlstads Universitet, NetApp and Simula Festival of Lights in Berlin on October 2019. The field test took place in front of the main building of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, one of the festival's main squares. A 180 degree camera recorded the surrounding light installations on both evenings. Instead of sending the data to a central cloud, the videos were transmitted via a 60 Ghz antenna to an “Edge Cloud”, which was located in a van on site.
