ALADIN: Forest Firefighting in Brandenburg with 5G

The ALADIN project aims to ensure safer forest firefighting in the future utilizing demand-oriented 5G networking of emergency forces and response resources. As a first step, a nomadic, i.e. local and temporary, network is being set up at the Schönhagen airfield in Brandenburg. The network will then be used to enable emergency forces to communicate with each other, unmanned firefighting vehicles to be remotely controlled, and current situation images of the scene to be transmitted by a reconnaissance drone. In this way, it will also be possible to monitor and secure areas where it was previously impossible to enter or drive through due to contaminated sites (in particular unexploded bombs and shells as well as ammunition parts).
