Jerome Vieron is Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder at Quortex created in 2018 which is on a mission to make live streaming Green, Simple, Cost-efficient and without any compromise on the Quality of Experience. He received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Rennes 1 university in 1999 and is involved in both broadcast and Internet streaming for the last 25 years. After joining Thomson R&D as Research Engineer, he joined the Video Processing and Perception Lab of Technicolor as Senior Scientist in 2007 and explored new technologies for future video coding applications and standards. He was an active contributor to standardization efforts led by ISO and ITU-T groups. From 2011 to 2018, he created and lead the Research & Innovation group at ATEME. He was involved in many international research efforts on new technologies like UHD, HDR, 360, HEVC, AV1 etc. With more than 80 patents, he is now leading, at Quortex, a team made up of a unique blend of experts in both video and cloud domains who is working on a future-proof approach: the Just-in-Time Cloud Streaming.
