Talk: “Travelling in time and exploring c​oal mines: Our approach to Web VR”

Thomas Hallet, Producer at WDR, the German Public Broadcasting Service based in Cologne.

Thomas has been working as head of WDR's Science TV Unit for many years. In 2016 he moved to the company's digital unit, taking responsibility for innovative web based projects like 360/VR content (see http://dom360.wdr.de/; http://zeitkapsel.wdr.de/) and data driven content (see https://superkuehe.wdr.de/). As visiting lecturer at the University of Trier, Germany, Thomas is focussing on the user's attention patterns for visual content, a topic that nowadays has to be expanded to his perceptions in immersive environments.
