Ruth Brown has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years after qualifying with a BEng (hons) in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent and an MSc in Telecommunications from UCL. Having spent the majority of her career working in networks and mobility, Ruth is also a Chartered Engineer and member of the IET.

Ruth current works in the Core Converged Networks Research team as a Principal Researcher based at the BT Labs in Suffolk, with a focus on 5G technologies. Key recent interests have included network slicing, 5G low latency use cases and evolution of the next generation mobile core.
