In his role at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) with the UK Government, Mohammad Lari is in charge of the strategic development for cross-government and international coordination for the UK's 5G testbeds and trials. This includes working with UK bodies involved in exporting and attracting inward investment opportunities as well as linking industrial sectors and cross-government initiatives that will make use of next-generation mobile networks.

Prior to joining DCMS, Mohammad was with the Canadian federal public service for 6 years, where he held multiple roles both in Technology and IT (2013-2019).

The presentation will highlight some of the achievements from UK's 5G Testbeds and Trials Programme, launched in late 2017, which is running a series of projects across the UK seeking to test 5G technology in key sector areas to help identify deployment, business and technical challenges.
