Viraj Rohit Gala (M.Sc.) is a Scientist at the Competence Center SQC

Education & Career

Viraj Rohit Gala received his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 2016 and his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information and Communication Engineering from the Beuth University of Applied Sciences (BHT) Berlin in 2022, where he specialized in the field of telecommunications, distributed systems, information security and data science. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a Senior Application Analyst, at Accenture in India. From 2019 to 2020, during his Master's studies, he worked in Germany, initially as a SaaS Product Machine Learning Developer and later as an Information Security Engineer.

Since 2020, he has been a research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS, conducting research in machine learning and quality assessment. As part of his research activities, he has participated in projects funded by federal ministries such as BSI and BMBF, focusing on testing and developing frameworks for assessing machine learning models and AI systems.

Currently, he is a Data Science Researcher dedicated to developing comprehensive data science solutions that span the entire pipeline—from data engineering and data quality assessment to machine learning model deployment, testing, and fine-tuning for industry-specific use cases. His recent work focuses on pioneering research and development in data quality assessment through outlier detection and data drift detection.
