Bringing Edge Computing, OPC UA and TSN Together
Abstract
In order to realize the full potential of industrial loT, the technologies that we use on the factory floor need to provide a balance between being open, offering flexibility and guaranteeing operational performance. Edge Computing brings a new level of flexibility to industrial systems by incorporating IT concepts such as virtualization and workload orchestration, often based on open source implementations. OPC UA over TSN offers guarantees for interoperable data exchange and has become the universally supported industrial communication standard. This session will show how bringing these technologies together provides a platform for industrial systems that are flexible, open, safe and secure.
