Dr. Dietmar Bruckner
R&D - Group Leader System Software - Connectivity, B&R Industrial Automation GmbH, Austria
Dr. Dietmar Bruckner is with B&R Industrial Automation since 2013, where he is responsible for developments related to connectivity of devices, including Ethernet-based fieldbusses like B&R's POWERLINK. In cooperation with other OPC UA TSN Shaper companies he works on specifying OPC UA and TSN for broad industrial use. Earlier, Bruckner worked for 10 years at the Institute of Computer Technology of the Vienna University of Technology in the areas of building automation and artificial (general) intelligence. He is actively contributing and chairing work in the relevant standardization bodies for OPC UA and TSN.
Workflow for Real-Time Controller and Field-Level OPC UA TSN Applications
Abstract
Online and offline engineering of industrial Ethernet technologies poses several challenges to users. In addition, TSN and OPC UA are comparatively more complex technologies than traditional Ethernet-based field busses. The aspiration of shared and converged networks and the envisaged more complex and secure communication relations complicate the situation even more.
This presentation will discuss the engineering and configuration deployment phases of OPC UA TSN applications. We will introduce possibilities for offline configuration like scheduling process data exchange and integration into IT infrastructure for address assignment and user/role management as well as options for dynamic changes to the system.
