Charles Sheridan is the Director of Huawei’s Applied Network Technologies Lab based in Munich, he is responsible for Huawei’s strategic research agenda focused on next generation Edge Computing, Networking and Security technologies for Huawei’s network product line. He has delivered real world IoT networking and platform solutions from Industry 4.0, Autonomous driving to Smart Cities with world leading companies and government agencies. He has established large scale research institutes with academic and government institutes. He has lead large global RnD matrixed teams and product groups in developing next generation IoT products. His current research interests are in the areas of networked Cyber Physical Systems and the Industrial Internet - emerging global network fabric connecting people, machines and the internet. He has participated in several European Commission research projects and consulted with the EU Commission on IoT challenges. He has published a number of white papers and journal publications and co-authored 2 books on energy efficiency strategies and has a number of patents on IoT networking and computing technologies.
