Abstract
MEC: Cloud Evolution and its Challenges
Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) aims to provide cloud computing capabilities at the edge of the access network. MEC not only offers storage and computation resources at the edge, which reduces application latency for mobile users and bandwidth requirement to the mobile backhaul and core networks, but also provides radio access network (RAN) information for improving application performance. In this talk, we will share the potential and challenges to evolve the MEC to a next generation service innovation platform.
