Gheorghe Pop Ilie Daniel obtained his Bachelor Degree in Application Systems at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Faculty for Automatic Control and Computers University Politehnica of Bucharest in 2013. His thesis “A Service Oriented Application for Real-time Data Access to an Automated System" was part of the Intelligent Buildings topic.
He continued with his Masters studies in Advanced Computer Architectures. In the last year of his Master studies, he carried out research for his dissertation thesis “Design and Implementation of a 5G Core Network Benchmarking Solution" at the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS as a student and in November 2015 joined the Next Generation Networks Infrastructure (NGNI) team as a researcher.
In the early years as bachelor student, he focused on artificial intelligence studies for event prediction in non-deterministic systems.
During his junior years he continued with graphical processing, pattern, object and face recognition applications followed by cryptography and data encoding.
A keen interest was afterwards taken with Automatic Control and Systems Engineering during a internship program. This involved research in data acquisition systems, wired and wireless communication protocols, SCADA.
The next stage of the academic journey added service oriented architectures, time-sensitive data processing and intelligent building management systems.
In his first master studies year he carried out research in big data, namely profile extraction and classification, ontology-based data representations and prediction algorithms for recommendation systems.
In his second year he was involved with E-health, namely mobile health data acquisition and processing as well as remote health monitoring platform deployment. The studies covered medical sensor data acquisition using mobile devices, local data processing, medical data encoding, encryption and transmission, cloud-based platform architectures and monitoring systems for both system components as well as patients, user interface design and mobile application programming.
