From July 18-20, 2017, the Computing Conference 2017 took place in London (UK). SQC scientist Nikola Serbedzija contributed as keynote speaker a lecture on “Real-Life Computing”.

The annual Computing Conference provides an international research platform for exchanging information on the state-of-the-art in computer science. Key topics are modeling and simulation, design and use as well as the impact of new technologies.

In his lecture, Nikola Serbedzija presented a survey of “human-in-the-loop” systems as well as a new real-life programming paradigm. It aims at preventing negative impacts by defining protective measures in early design phase. He also discussed the effects of technology impacts.

At this year's conference guests from over 50 nations took part. In addition to more than 230 contributions, six keynotes provided insights into future research directions and trends.
