
ITG 5.2 Workshop Smart Cities

On September 28, 2017, the workshop “Smart Cities” took place in Lübeck, Germany. Within the framework of the ITG 5.2, experts for system architectures and internet and telecom traffic engineering technology from industry and science meet regularly to exchange information on current developments. Topics are, among other things, the development of new system architectures or performance analyzes.
Nikolay Tcholtchev, scientist at SQC, held a one-hour tutorial on the topic of reference architectures for ICT in Smart Cities. The lecture focused on standardization activities at both national and EU level. The presented reference architectures support the interoperability between components, modules, layers and general artefacts of ICT ecosystems for smart cities. Moreover, the application of such an ICT reference architecture in a series of European cities was the content of the tutorial.
