FAMOUS

AAS-based modeling for the analysis of changeable CPS

June 01, 2019 to June 01, 2022

The increasing networking of the value chain in the course of digitalization requires further development of networking software in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT). For this purpose, the FAMOUS project combines the research expertise of the University of Augsburg, ifak, the Fraunhofer Institutes IPK and FOKUS with the competencies of the Industrie 4.0 experts Endress+Hauser, Lenze, and Bosch.

The project aims to carry out the prototypical evaluation of methods for autonomous and reliable measurement, aggregation, and processing of sensor data in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) based on Asset Administration Shells (AAS).

Using the RAMI4.0 model, the project evaluates and harnesses data quality through all levels based on available information and mathematical models. Traditional industrial measurement and calibration procedures must be fundamentally revised at this point.

For this purpose, individual sensors are linked to a digital twin that is capable of communicating information about measurement uncertainty. Sub-networks of sensors will be combined in flexible mathematical models to enable machine-oriented data evaluation. With the help of organic computing methods, flexible and partially autonomously acting sub-networks are formed.
