Jointly with Deutsche Telekom, Dipl.-Math. Ernst-Joachim Steffens is engaged in various 5G Campus Network piloting activities. Until YE 2018, he worked as research director at Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs), with a focus on industrial communication and related topics such as Industrie 4.0, Industrial IoT, cloud robotics and artificial intelligence. For several years, Ernst-Joachim Steffens represented Deutsche Telekom in Workgroup “Research and Innovation” of the German Plattform Industrie 4.0.  

This presentation introduces 5G Campus Networks, Deutsche Telekom´s approach to advanced mobile connectivity for industrial production sites. Status of implementation is explained, and some examples are given. Specific attention is paid to the partnering approach, fostering growth of the Campus Network ecosystem that is needed to speed up Industrie 4.0 scenario implementation in the field.
