José Almodóvar

José Luis Almodóvar Chico is an R&D Consultant at TNO and 3GPP SA1 Chairman. He joined TNO in 2013 where he has been working mainly on network aspects of mobile communications. Since 2015 he has been KPN’s SA1 delegate, where he has been rapporteur for a number of work items (e.g. 5GLAN, REFEC).

José holds a Master Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands and a Bachelor’s Degree in Telematics Engineering from the Carlos III University, Spain.

Apart from the standardization activities, José is also involved in 5G activities in the Netherlands (e.g. 5Groningen). He has also been actively involved in several European R&D projects in the areas of IoT (iCore project), Wi-Fi (Wi5), satellite (Sat5G) and more recently 5G for verticals (5GHEART).
