Research and Work during Corona

Fraunhofer FOKUS very quickly created a hygiene concept and discussed it with its employees at an early stage, so that they were able to work from their home office as much as possible. A shift plan was drawn up for a necessary on-site presence at the institute and all measures were checked by B·A·D GmbH, an occupation well-being provider which is responsible for occupational safety at Fraunhofer FOKUS.

The B·A·D seal of approval for occupational health and safety standard COVID-19 confirms that Fraunhofer FOKUS complies with the occupational health and safety standard COVID-19, which has been in force nationwide since April 16, 2020. Furthermore, it complies with it in an exemplary manner to protect its employees, customers, and the Institute's operations.

As far as possible, we do not work at the Institute. This also applies to customer contacts. Customer visits to the Institute are still possible but must be registered. Visitors are only admitted if they agree to the Fraunhofer FOKUS hygiene concept, which will be sent to them in advance. A security check is carried out at the reception desk and, if not available, a mouth & nose protector is issued. At the Institute, the known rules of distance and hygiene must be observed. Only a limited number of people are allowed on each floor at the same time. For this reason, appointments may be postponed to another day.

The health of the employees is the highest priority. For this reason, further restrictions may be imposed in individual cases. Nevertheless, the Institute's ability to work is guaranteed at all times.

The staff can of course still be reached – preferably by e-mail. Office numbers have been redirected to cell phones or computer-based call services. Telephone and video conferences are of course an ideal means of staying in touch in times of Corona. Events at the FOKUS event center will not take place until further notice. Alternative digital formats have been developed and already successfully used. Business trips are only permitted in exceptional cases.

In the current situation, Fraunhofer FOKUS gives top priority to keeping everyone healthy. Fraunhofer FOKUS is looking forward to continuing our good cooperation and stay healthy!
