Award for contribution to the dash.js project
Call for entries - deadline April 25
This year, the DASH Industry forum will be giving away a $500 award for contributions to the dash.js project. The award will be presented at the dash.js face-to-face meeting in Berlin on May 7th.
You do not have to be present to win. The award can be made to any volunteer contributor who has “made continued contributions of significant benefit to the advancement of the project”. The winner will be selected by the admin of the project, Fraunhofer Fokus, in cooperation with the board of the DASH Industry Forum.
If you would like to recommend the adjudicators to consider the work of a colleague, then please send their name and github handle to Daniel Silhavy prior to April 25.
Fraunhofer FOKUS maintains the dash.js source code
In December 2019, Fraunhofer FOKUS has been contracted by DASH-IF to maintain the source code of the dash.js project. Our work includes labeling, commenting, resolving and closing open issues and pull requests as well as implementing new features specified within the DASH-IF. The robustness, the wide support of features and the possibility of customizing the player makes dash.js an ideal client used in production by multiple companies and a large number of our own customers. As one of the early adopters of MPEG-DASH, Fraunhofer FOKUS is using dash.js in numerous projects and is happy to assist with any problems or specific requirements around dash.js and DASH in general.
