Edge AI

Abstract

Edge computing has specific characteristics to address autonomous behavior, fast response times, intermittent connectivity and huge data volumes relative to the available bandwidth. Similarly, artificial intelligence systems have their specifics such as the lifecycle of models, the location of training and scoring and network effects. I discuss the intersection of these characteristics and its impact on edge enabled systems. I conclude the presentation with considerations on security, privacy and ethics for AI on the edge.
