Dr. Thierry Lestable 

Technology & Innovation Manager in SAGEMCOM 

Dr. Thierry Lestable received Engg. Degree, and Ph.D from the Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité (Supelec) in 1997, and 2003 respectively.

Since Sept. 2008, Dr. Lestable is Technology & Innovation Manager in SAGEMCOM (Paris, France), Heading Innovation within the Office of CTO, working on Technology Strategy and Roadmap (LTE, IoT/M2M, Femtos, WiFi, Cloud, Energy, Multimedia), including Business development, product marketing, pre-sales support, and setting-up industry & academic partnerships through Standards, Alliances, Forums and collaborative projects (FP7, FUI).

He participated to the Launch of IoT LoRA™ Alliance, was granted the position of Vice-chair for the Strategy Committee in June 2015, and leads the Roadmap Working Group.

In 1998, he joined Alcatel as Software Engineer on GPRS development and integration.

In 2000, he joined Alcatel Research & Innovation laboratories, investigating physical layer enhancement (e.g.MC-CDMA) of IEEE 802.11a/g, and HiperLAN/2, paving the way to 4G Chinese systems with FuTURE 863 projects.

From January 2004 till mid-2008, Dr. Lestable was with Samsung Electronics Research Institute (SERI), UK (London), heading the Advanced Technology Group, focusing on Advanced Channel Coding (LDPC Codes, Turbo-Codes), Iterative processing for MIMO-OFDM based systems, Space-Time Coding (STBC, Golden & Perfect Codes, Linear Dispersion Codes), and Cross-Layer optimization.

He contributed to IEEE 802.16m, and 802.20 standards, whilst actively participating into European research projects (FP6-WINNER I & II) on next generation wireless systems, and creating FP7-DAVINCI Consortium.

Dr. Lestable is author of 35+ international publications, and 20+ patents. (Editor of 1 Wiley Book on Advanced Channel Coding, co-author in 2 Wiley Books on B3G/4G systems).

Dr. Lestable is Telecom Expert for the European Commission, Eureka Cluster CELTIC, and the French National Research Agency (ANR).

He was Chair of the M2M Expert Group in eMobility European Technology Platform.

Dr. Lestable was the Coordinator/Project Manager of FP7-ICT BeFEMTO project, coordinated FP7 EXALTED (M2M), and FUI EconHOME (France).

Since 2010, Dr. Lestable is also member of the Telecom Group Steering Board from Systematic Competitiveness Cluster, whilst teaching the IoT/M2M course in Supélec, and since 2015 in CNAM.
