Practical experience of digital industry in small and medium-sized businesses

Industry 4.0 – At this time that slogan is omnipresent in Germany. Too long there was a dominance of thinking that the manufacturing industry is detached from the progress of digitalization. In bigger companies the awareness for the “digital-must” has already arrived, but for many small and medium-sized businesses the exact definition of that keyword is still a big question mark.
In this talk Marco Bauer will show some practical experiences of digital transformation in small businesses in this traditional industry. Furthermore we will discuss the current state of research and future possibilities for getting the vision of the “Digital Manufacture” into reality.
