Dr.-Ing. Thomas Haustein

Thomas Haustein studied Physics at the University of Technology n Berlin and received the Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) degree in 2006 in Broadband Wireless  Communication. 
Since 1997, he was with the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI), Berlin, where he worked on wireless infrared systems and radio communications with multiple antennas and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. His focus was on real-time algorithms for baseband processing and advanced multiuser resource allocation.
From 2006 – 2008, he joint Siemens / Nokia Siemens Networks, where he conducted research for Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-advanced. 
Since 2009 he is Head of the Department at Fraunhofer of Wireless Communications and Networks at Heinrich-Hertz-Institute.
His current research focus is wireless solutions for industrial applications and 5G including associated standardization. Thomas published more than 45 papers and holds about 35 patents.
