Fraunhofer FOKUS presented at NTT Research and Development Forum joint collaboration results
News from Feb. 28, 2013
Fraunhofer FOKUS presented intermediate results of following collaboration projects at the NTT R&D Forum 2013 in Musashino/Japan, Feb. 14-15:
- The competence center FAME (Future Applications and Media) of Fraunhofer FOKUS presented last results of joint collaboration activities for Next Generation Multiscreen Technologies. The exhibition “Contents Follow User Situation Changes” was one from the recommended exhibits in the area of “Innovation for Next Value Service”. NTT will participate at the Media Web Symposium 2013 in Berlin, March 14-15 with two permanent exhibits:
- Information division/cooperation technology applicable to HTML5: demonstrates how
Contents Follow User Situation Changes using Multiscreen technologies.
- Multiscreen collaboration to realize resilient information sharing: Shows how Disaster
Information is shared under Internet Disconnection.
- The competence center NGNI (Next Generation Network Infrastructures) of Fraunhofer FOKUS presented in collaboration with NTT intermediate results of a Real-time Communication service architecture project. The platform developed in the project allows the convergence of multiple media types and services from different sources. During the presentation the researchers showed how different media types like map services, web services and user input can be integrated to a video call. The Android clients based on an RCS (Rich Communication Suite) stack and WebRTC (Web Real Time Communication) clients run completely in the Google Chrome browser. The infrastructure for realizing the real time communication services was running in an elastic cloud environment, which was scaled on heavy network load during the demonstration.
