The Handelsblatt business economists - ranking is published for the second time since 2009 and awards, among other things, the 250 best business economists in the german-speaking area for their work of life. The ranking is based on an analysis of publications in renowned scientific and mostly international journals.

Knut Blind is leading the Research Group Public Innovation at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS), which concentrates on innovative research with the focal points on patents, standards, public procurement, public-private partnerships and regulation.

Knut Blind is a special advisor to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), the European Commission and the OECD, and holds the Chair for Innovation Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Technical University of Berlin.. Since 2008 he holds in addition the Chair of Standardization in the Department of Technology and Management at the "Rotterdam School of Management" at Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Knut Blind is currently working on the German Standardization Panel. The panel will be realized in fall 2012 with the aid of an online survey, involving both German companies and German research institutions. The two main goals are: The data will build the basis for the acquisition of new scientific findings on the effects of standardization and standards. Furthermore the German standardization panel will respond to current standardization policy initiatives and identify future needs for action.
