Naoto Ishii has been working as a researcher in System Platform Research Laboratories, NEC Corporation. He had investigated signal processing technologies for W-CDMA, radio resource management technologies such as interference coordination scheme for LTE/LTE-Advanced. Current research interests are Massive MIMO beamforming technology and MAC scheduling for 5th generation cellular base station.
Development of massive element-antenna base station towards 5G
In this presentation, I will introduce our prototype of AAS (active antenna system) for 5th generation (5G) cellular base station. Especially, we are focusing to low SHF band (i.e. below 6 GHz) to realize early phase 5G system. Our developing base station is targeting to apply a full digital beamforming with more than a hundred antennas.
