News from June 17, 2013
On 12 June the 360°-panorama-world in the National Park “Hohe Tauern” in Mittersill in Austria opened. Scientists from the competence Center VISCOM delivered the software for the media and projection technology.
The 360°-cinema in the National Park “Hohe Tauern” cost around 2,8 Million Euros and consists of a two-storey cylinder. In the top floor a 360°-panorama with a diameter of 17 meters and a horizontal 12k high-resolution is located. The media player of Fraunhofer FOKUS supplies a synchronized playing of digital media. Thanks to the software the images of the projector are adjusted to each other automatically and thus a smooth and united picture is produced. The digital projector technology is applicable for any types of projection surfaces and projector combinations. Besides digital cinemas, product presentations and other events the use is also possible for planetariums.
