Eclipse IoT-Testware Creation Review
News from June 09, 2017
On June 7, 2017, the IoT-Testware technology project was formally adopted by the Eclipse Foundation after a Creation Review. In the project, devices and services of the Internet of Things (IoT) are tested for compliance, interoperability, robustness and security.
In particular, the test technology TTCN-3 (Testing and Test Control Notation) – standardized at ETSI and co-developed by Fraunhofer FOKUS – will be applied. The project is designed to help companies to improve the quality of IoT products, using test suites and test cases described in TTCN-3. This can be achieved through the exchange and use of jointly developed test suites. Developers should be given the opportunity to set up their own test environment. Through the base provided by the Eclipse Foundation, the IoT testware can be made open source and thus free of charge.
