OR.Net
Secure dynamic networking in the operation teather and in clinics
Jan. 01, 2013 to Aug. 31, 2015
OR.net is the BMBF-funded research project that aims to increase the medical devices and medical IT systems interconnections in the operation theaters and hospitals while maintaining or even improving their reliability and security. To this end, the project proposes the replacement of the proprietary interfaces and protocols with open standardized ones.
Viscom is involved in OR.Net in the architectural design, and in the research for creating the multi-protocol MP Connector, a real-time middleware for medical devices. This adapter will support multiple bus types ( ProfiBus, EtherCAT, CAN, Ethernet) and will enable the connectivity of the medical devices that used previously proprietary connectivity to the OR.Net. Viscom also contributes to the creation of the benchmarks and of the test-bed for the real-time capabilities in OR.NET.
